Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank examined the Baymed, Bayteks and Baypoy facilities located in the Kilis campus.

Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank stated that Haskan Group of Companies in Kilis produces medical textiles, surgical sets and sterile products, employs 700 people and exports to 38 countries.

Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank visited Haskan Group of Companies Kilis Campus. During the visit hosted by Hasan Gürkan Bayram, Chairman of the Board of Haskan Companies Group, Kilis Deputies Mustafa Hilmi Dülger, Ahmet Salih Dal, Kilis Governor Recep Soytürk, Gaziantep Mayor Fatma Şahin and Kilis Mayor Servet Ramazan were among the guests. Baymed, Bayteks and Baypoy facilities were examined.

Highlights of what was conveyed to Minister Mustafa Varank by our Chairman of the Board of Directors, Hasan Gürkan Bayram, during the visit:

“As a family that has been in production for three generations, we contribute to the country's economy thanks to our experience in the sector, our knowledge, our trained human resources, our export and innovative sustainability perspective.

Thanks to our innovative sustainability perspective in all areas in which we operate, such as technical textiles, medical, recycling, packaging, yarn and carpet, we strive to do what is not always done, to be the first in the sector, to make a difference. As an example of our Innovative Sustainability studies; BAYPOY, which is under construction in the Kilis campus, will be the first facility in the world to produce POY from 100% recycling. 1.800 Tons/month of Poy raw material, which will be obtained from 100% recycling at the facility, will be transformed into polyester yarn by finishing at the Bay İplik facility. Ultimately, the first Carpet produced from 100% recycling, which we believe will make an impact in the international market, will be produced by Bay Carpet.

While we continue our production with innovation and digital transformation investments, especially the innovative work of our TIT Innovation Center enables us to produce unique projects around the world and focus on more value-added projects and doing what cannot be done.

In all our fields of activity, we produce with our own resources and the strength we derive from our highly valued human resources. In the future, we want to be an institution that inspires the future of our country in every field in which we operate and leads with its unique projects. In this way, we will continue to make valuable contributions to the development of the country by signing bigger projects that make a difference with energy.”

Speaking to the press at the end of the visit, Minister Mustafa Varank said:

“Byteks firm, Mr. Hasan Bayram, operates in a wide variety of sectors, but one of the most important of these is non-woven fabric, which we call nonwoven fabric. You know, these fabrics are the main raw material for both overalls and masks during the epidemic period. Of course, we got the information from our company here, the machine you see behind us is a domestic machine and it is currently performing the operation related to surgical drapes.

Previously, we opened the factories of different companies operating in the nonwoven sector. Turkey has a very important potential in these areas, its capacity is really high. It has become an important player in the nonwoven fabric sector both in its region and in the international arena. Bayteks manufactures in areas that require very sensitive production, especially in medical textiles, such as operating rooms. We have just visited the production facilities, medical textile production is carried out almost like a pharmaceutical factory.

Of course, the fact that we can call such medium-high technology productions in a city like Kilis makes us very happy. Hopefully, we will make investments in our Church in the coming period and we will do our best as the Ministry of Industry and Technology to bring high technologies here.”
